May 03 2008 - 09:00 pm local time - Raju's flat - Singapore.

Raju was so excited to hear from his dad that Sukumar had given him a call in the evening.
Also, he felt bad that his father failed to collect Sukumar's contact number.
He started tracing down the contact number by making few ISD calls to his friends.
He was not lucky enough, to get succeeded in those attempts. He was in a kind of emotion which had equal amount of joy and sorrow feelings. In no mood, he had his dinner and went to bed.

When he tried to close his eyes & prepare himself for sleep, his brain started exploring the footprints of Sukumar in his life. Somehow I missed to keep in touch with this guy for a few years. We had completed our engineering graduations in different colleges. After the course completion, We were working in Chennai for a couple of years. Then, I came down here to Singapore. When we were there in Chennai, we used to meet frequently. Sometimes, we talk about those wonderful days of our life.
Yes, we both had great time during our higher secondary school days!
If I start thinking about those days, it will make this night as a sleepless one. I don't want to do that; since I have to go office early in the morning.

He forcefully hibernates his brain and goes for a deep sleep. Let us not disturb him.
Don't worry that this part of the story has come to an end! I will take you back to their XI standard.

That was a fine saturday. No teacher was there to take classes for them. Happily they were making noise. Suddenly Chemistry teacher walked in to the class room to make them quiet.
Since they were not ready to attend classes, teacher asked anyone to sing a song. No one was ready to do that. You know what she did? She was dare enough and started singing on her own voice. :) Pupils started screaming and asked her to stop it.
Suddenly a lovely female voice raised. Who else that could be? Kaveri started singing the song
"Gangai karai thottam, Kannip pengal kootam ... Kannan naduvinilae ,, ohhhhhh, kannan naduvinilae !!" (translation - "Garden in the Ganges river bank, group of young girls, Lord Krishna in the middle!!)

Sukumar felt like, as if he was the subject of the song. He started listening to her and he did not move his eyes from her until she completed the song. The whole classroom applauded for her song.
He got admired by her voice, the song and each & every aspects of the singing style.
Hundreds of butterflies started flying in him. Also, that thing happened to him. Almost he fell in love with her at the first song.!
From the next class onwards he felt something different; the love waves started flowing from him.
He wanted to turn his head and see her(star at her) for a few seconds. He was keep on repeating it for 3 or 4 times an hour.
He just not wanted to disclose that he is deliberately doing it. So, he thought for a while.
Then, he called Raju and asked him to look at her smiling face. She used to laugh once in 10/15 minutes. (She was having a gang of her old schoolmates! They always used to talk about something and laughing)
Sukumar's idea worked out well. It solved his purpose.

Sukumar calls Raju, sometimes Raju calls Sukumar; both of them will have a look at her! It continued like that for many days.

Then, the quarterly examination holidays came. That vacation spanned for more than a week.
Sukumar was not able to lead the normal life without seeing her. His mind got disturbed by her.

After the vacation, he started to get more feel on her. The frequency of turning his head, slowly increased. Within a few weeks, they had become the hot topic of the class (unknowingly).
Sukumar came to know about this when he visited a girl classmate's house on a sunday.
She asked him that whether he/Raju loves Kaveri! He just rep'lied' "No".
She told about the hot gossip of the class! "We are not sure whether Kaveri loves you or Raju? We are very much interested to know that who the lucky person is?"

Sukumar felt a shock from his top to bottom; to hear that statement 'whether Kaveri loves you or Raju?' These words started echoing on his ears.
He was not able to think of it; that Raju loves her? Raju has not spoken a single word to him about this. He wanted to get a hold on this matter.
Finally, he decided to talk to Kaveri about his love.

He went to School early in the morning with a letter in his right hand. That letter simply contained a sweet statement! "Smile! The second best thing, that can do with your lips."
And was waiting for Raju to come. Raju didn't come to school till the first period started.
He saw Kaveri who was not in a good mood! Then, he heard from one of his friends that Raju wast talking to Kaveri in the previous evening!

Thats it!!! Sukumar felt something wrong has happened.
He rushed to Raju's hostel immediately, to meet him.
